In accordance with our bylaws and recognized nonprofit best practices, Sawa Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, and security of all donor and beneficiary information.
All donor records—including personal identifying information, contact details, and financial giving history—are treated as strictly confidential. Access to an individual donor’s giving record is limited to the donor or their duly authorized representative.
Sawa Foundation does not sell, trade, share, or otherwise disclose donor information to any third party outside the organization, except as required by law. Disclosure may occur only to authorized governmental or regulatory authorities in connection with lawful audits, financial reviews, or other legally mandated oversight.
Within the organization, access to donor information is restricted to personnel whose responsibilities require such access for donor relations, financial processing, compliance, or administrative purposes. Access is granted on a need-to-know basis.
The Board of Directors may review donor records when necessary to fulfill its fiduciary oversight responsibilities. Any such review remains subject to the same strict confidentiality requirements.
All board members, employees, and volunteers are required to comply with the organization’s confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations. These obligations apply during and after their period of service with Sawa Foundation.
Sawa Foundation also protects beneficiary data with the same level of care and discretion, recognizing the heightened sensitivity that may exist in humanitarian and international contexts.
